It’s 2018, loves! Can you believe it?!
I cannot believe how quickly 2017 flew by. Quite honestly, it’s taken me a while to wrap my head around a new year’s beginning. God was so, so good to us in 2017 that I felt like I wanted to see the whole year through before thinking about the year ahead. I took the first week of the year to reflect and think through my goals and aspirations for 2018. While there are so many things I’d like to accomplish, I wanted to narrow it down to three broad yet obtainable resolutions. So, here we go – my 2018 New Years Resolutions:

My 2018 Goals:
Health: 2017 was a rough year when it came to my health. In fact, it ended with a nervous trip to a neurologist due to ongoing migraines. Scary as it was, it definitely made me realize I need to make some lifestyle changes in order to feel myself again. While I always envision getting into a gym routine, fitness goals always seem to fall off my list of priorities. I’m sure some of you can relate! Staying physically fit is definitely important to me, but I know the mental and spiritual part of my health need attention too. It is so important to take time for yourself to unwind from the stresses of each day. Which leads me to my next resolution…
Organization: Balancing a full-time job, the blog, being a wife, Christian, and friend has been a challenge for me lately. And I know that will get even more difficult when we decide to expand our precious family. 🐶👶 My goal this year is to divide my time and attention a little more carefully. I’ve never been a fan of creating a daily schedule. But I seem to fill my time with meaningless activities rather than purposeful ones when I don’t have some type of structure. Like binge-watching Netflix shows or playing Homescapes (my latest guilty pleasure). This also means scheduling time away from responsibilities to have some precious me-time. Because we all need that every now and then! And I didn’t do a great job of that in 2017.
Blog: This time last year I remember bouncing off the walls with excitement after receiving my acceptance email from LiketoKnow.it! 2017 was such a special year being in the blogging world and connecting with so many amazing people and brands. With almost two years under my belt as a micro influencer, I know that this industry comes with a lot of perks. But it also comes with a lot of challenges – time commitment, evil lies of comparison, fear of what people think. It’s a struggle sometimes…
So, I’ve decided that in 2018 I’ll decide either to continue pursuing this dream or throw in the towel. It pains me to even type that! But I know that as the blog grows, so will the demand for time and energy. For those with a full-time job and side-hustle know that this can take a toll on you at times – which goes back to my health resolution. Such a vicious cycle! All this being said, I will still be hitting 2018 head-on with new strategies and ideas for making The Holly Tree the best it can be! I’m excited to see where it may lead.
I would LOVE to know what you think about the blog and what you’d like to see in 2018! There is a poll over on my Instagram, so head on over and let me know your thoughts.
