Calling all rose lovers: The Bachelorette is back! For the next eight weeks you can find me and my best girlfriends with a bottle of wine and a giant box of pizza – the ultimate girls night! We were literally counting down the days to this premier since Ben Higgins said sayonara to JoJo and chose Lauren B. on the finale of last season.
And now, JoJo’s in the hot seat!
If for some weird reason you didn’t watch last season, JoJo is a Dallas chick with a bubbly personality who had her heart ripped to pieces after learning Ben told BOTH women he was in love with them – a big no-no on this reality show! She had all but five minutes to get over her heartbreak before Chris Harrison named her the new Bachelorette. I think all of Bachelor Nation thought it was going to be the real-life Disney Princess, Caila (who finished third runner-up), so even JoJo seemed to be a bit surprised by ABC’s selection on After the Final Rose.
After night one, it’s already obvious that JoJo is going to be a fabulous Bachelorette. It’s also obvious that there are already a few frontrunners in this race to JoJo’s heart, one in particular is none other than Jordan Rodgers – the little bro of Green Bays Packer’s QB Aaron Rodgers. He not only stole the first kiss, but also snagged the first impression rose.
Others who I think caught JoJo’s eye on the first night include James Taylor, a singer-songwriter who serenaded her as he got out of the limo (swoon), but Wells seemed to one-up him as he had an acapella group follow them around the whole night. There’s no denying that Luke will the the bad boy this season – at least that’s how ABC has portrayed him so far – and JoJo is totally falling for it (ugh!).
So, this year I decided to fill out a Bachelorette Bracket to add extra excitement as we watch JoJo’s journey to find love. I filled mine out solely based on the contestant bios on ABC’s website, and I’ve got Jordan Rodgers and fellow-Coloradan Chase in this final two with Jordan as the ultimate winner. I just have a feeling JoJo has a thing for athletes, and who wouldn’t want to marry into that family?! Any who, it’s not too late to participate in this season’s fantasy league. Several of my friends decided to wait to fill theirs out until after watching the interactions from night one. So, click this link to get your own bracket and start filling out your predictions before next week!
After the first night, I’ve scored 21 points! I guessed 17 of the 19 guys correct, plus earned an additional 5 points for picking Jordan to receive the first kiss. So, keep up with my picks and check back next week for a recap and score count after week 2! Happy Bachelorette-ing!
