What am I going to wear to work today? The dreaded question I wake to usually after the third push of the snooze button. Oh, how I wish I was a morning person! I am so not coherent when I stumble out of bed and into my closet. It’s a miracle I can piece together an outfit and look presentable 🙈 Adding pieces like this adorable drop waist dress to my wardrobe makes getting dressed for work super early in the morning a little easier.
I fell in love with the pattern and pops of burgundy and orange, let alone the pockets! Pairing this dress with burgundy flats and cardigan makes this a perfect look for transitioning to fall in the office. Burgundy will be a very popular color this season! I also love these plaid versions, but I think this one was a little more work appropriate. You can snag this drop waist dress for 40% off right now with the code: FALL4IT.
How do you start your day? Are you a morning person or a snooze button pusher? For five years I’ve been working on being a morning person and while it hasn’t been easy, I’m getting better at it. There’s just something about waking up while the world is still quiet, before the hustle of morning traffic and the sun glares through the windows. It’s peaceful. It’s during this time while my husband still sleeps and the Keurig warms up that I sit on the floor by our living room window, stare at our mountain view and spend some quiet time with the Lord.
“…and those who seek me early shall find me” Proverbs 8:17
Spending consistent daily time with our Creator is something that I struggle with. But as I start this new morning routine, I wake up eager to spend this time with Him. It’s in these moments that I find strength for the trials that may come that day. Even if for just a few minutes, spending quiet time and prayerfully asking Him to prepare with way for me helps me take on the day with utmost confidence.
God longs to spend this time with you, and He’s waiting to give you peace and strength each day. So, no matter how busy your schedule may be and how enticing that snooze button looks, try spending a few minutes with the Lord each morning and see how He starts to transform your days. He may even make you a morning person!
