Yall, it’s been a month since my last blog post.
A lot has happened in my personal life in the past month and I hate that it’s taken so long for me write about it. Sometimes it is hard to balance life when so many exciting things are happening. So, forgive me for the long post today, but we have A LOT to catch up on! I also wanted to share some of my recent Instagram posts and exciting sales happening this week. So, read on for a little life update and Instagram roundup.
Just two weeks after we got back from Corey’s surprise birthday vacation, we packed up the car and headed south for my sister’s graduation from Oklahoma State University (Go Pokes!). Seeing her walk across that stage and knowing that she will impact so many lives as a teacher brings a tear to my eye. I am so proud of all that she’s accomplished and the beautiful woman of God she has become!
For our May adventure, we decided to keep it local. Who knew that South Dakota would only be a few hours away from Denver?! We packed up our bags with hardly any plans in place and headed North. Neither of us had ever been to Mount Rushmore, so we thought Memorial Day weekend would be the best weekend to see it. Sometimes you need a little spontaneity in your life, but to have no plans at all can cause quite the stress. I’m pretty sure we ended up grabbing the very last available hotel room in a 45-mile radius of Mount Rushmore. It was a very fun weekend though! I think I underestimated how beautiful South Dakota really is. Highly recommended!
We have had visitors every weekend so far in June, so it’s been a mad house around here! I feel like I haven’t had five minutes alone with my husband in 15 days. But I always love showing off our beautiful state to out-of-towners. The first weekend, a friend of Corey’s came from Orlando for four days. And last weekend my cousin was in town for her Bachelorette party. Keep an eye out for a full post about that one!
The final update is one I am most particularly proud of and that is my promotion at work! I started working at the University of Colorado in September of last year and served as the only person in the marketing department for most of the school year. In February I hired an intern to help with graphic design (because I’m not so great at that). Well, in May I got the approval to hire her on full-time after proving she is a vital member of my team. I know with this promotion comes a lot of responsibility, but I could not be more excited to mentor her!
Sorry again for the LONG post today. This chick needs to get her life together and figure out how to balance a full-time job, the blog and all of life’s happenings. How do you best stay organized? I’d love to hear! Leave a comment with your tips.
